EXPRESS (N'EX)
Narita
Express Operation: The Narita Express operates daily between
Narita Airport Terminals 1 & 2, Tokyo Station and beyond. (Certain N'EX
trains separate at Tokyo Station: the first cars going to Shinjuku, Ikebukuro
or Omiya Station, while the rear cars go to Yokohama or Ofuna Station--Please
make note of this.) Trains depart from the Airport Terminal Station usually
every half-hour. They also take approximately one hour, one-way, to Tokyo,
Shinjuku and Ikebukuro Stations, approximately 1.5 hours to Yokohama Station
and approximately 2 hours to Ofuna Station. Service from Tokyo to Narita is as
frequent. Service from Ofuna, Yokohama and Ikebukuro are more limited, so
please consult the timetable below for times of departure.
Covered Routing:
Narita Airport (Terminal 1 & 2) - Tokyo - Shinjuku, Ikebukuro or Omiya /
kohama or Ofuna
Where to Get On: The Narita Airport rail station is
located in the basement of each terminal. Please follow signs for the JR
Line. Luggage carts are free of charge and may be taken down to the rail
station, on the escalators. They are not allowed on the trains. Ticket
purchases (i.e., reservations) are also made down there.
Fares: Ordinary Car (Adult) 2,940Yen, Ordinary
Car (Child)-1,470Yen; Green Car 4980Yen
For JR Passes Holders: The N'EX is fully covered by the Japan
Rail Pass and requires reservations prior to boarding for seating in either
Coach (Ordinary) or First (Green Car) class. Ordinary class rail pass holders may only ride the Ordinary
class cars. Green class rail pass holders may ride either Green car or Ordinary
car. Travelers may set up reservations only after exchanging the voucher for
the actual rail pass in Japan. Point to point ticket purchases and
reservations can only be made in Japan.
